Our Team

  • Simon – Under Stockman / Owner

Simon, a farmer’s son, spent thirty five years in the food and drinks industry initially in coffee trading and then roasting and latterly founding Pipers Crisps a premium snack brand . Following the sale of Pipers in 2019 he was able to finally get back to his roots and take over 500 acres of stunning land on the Lincolnshire Wolds. Together Simon and his father David combine their efforts across both farms.

  • Darren – Head of cows

Forever chirpy and utterly enchanted by cows Darren hasn’t had much choice but to follow in his father’s footsteps and spend a lifetime surrounded by them. Fortunately for us he was happy to join our venture in its infancy and his depth of knowledge and wealth of experience has been invaluable to us here as we expand the herd and continue along the organic conversion.

  • Sean – Head of Diggers and Tractors

Sean has worked with tractors and diggers all his life, he worked on our farm as a youngster and knows it inside out. Sean has an antique collection of International tractors and loves an opportunity to use them (when they work).

  • Sonia – Head of sums

Sonia makes sure our numbers add up and does the books for many farmers in the area. When she isn’t ploughing through the bills she can be found at horse events across the UK with husband Chris supporting their daughter Emily, a successful 4* event rider.

  • David Herring – All round good bloke

David took over Rectory Farm in 1979 and farmed it with his brother until 2020 when he joined with Simon to combine the two farms. He is an intrepid traveller, visiting countries most people can only dream of from the Antarctic to North Korea. He is always happy to share his knowledge yet eager to adapt to new farming techniques.

  • Clare Herring – General voice of reason

Long suffering wife of Simon. Holds the fort while he gets involved with various adventures, projects, ideas and extreme career changes. Never far away from a horse, a dog, a temperamental mower or a handy length of blue pipe to chase cows with. Swears a lot and eats too much butter.
