We’re farming soil
“Despite all our accomplishments, we owe our existence to a six-inch layer of topsoil and the fact it rains.”

Paul Harvey (1978) U.S. broadcaster.

Our number one concern is the health of soil, all decisions made on the farm consider the impact they will have on this.

We believe that farming done correctly can restore, revitalise and rebuild this asset to which we owe our existence.

Pasture for life

Cattle when treated as a keystone species in an active ecosystem are the greatest asset we have to help nature build soil, improving the carbon content and biodiversity both above and below ground. Because of this, we have taken a pledge to completely pasture raise our cattle and we are Pasture for Life certified.

Low input

We are committed to using no glyphosate (the controversial chemical in RoundUp weedkiller) as well as no prophylactic use of antibiotics, vaccines or other veterinary medicines such as wormers and not to use chemical-based NPK fertiliser, all of these means are specifically intended to improve the quality of the soil.

Regenerative

The term ‘regenerative agriculture’ is being increasingly used in food and farming and often when it shouldn’t as it is currently an unregulated term, however, we believe our processes are truly regenerating both the soil and the greater ecosystem, primarily through our cattle management and strict lack of inputs combined with our Pasture For Life pledge.
